Challenge In Court Is For Posterity’s Sake – Nana Akufo Addo

Speaking at a press conference organised at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, the first plaintiff (petitioner) of the petition filed against the Electoral Commission Nana Addo said “the petitioners are three of us Ghanaian citizens ; me Nana Akufo-Addo, the NPP Presidential candidate in the election, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia my running mate and Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.”

“The respondents to the petition are the President elect, John Dramani Mahama and the Electoral Commission, whose conduct, is the subject of the complaint in the petition.” According to Nana Akufo Addo the case is in court officially in the above names because the law requires a citizen to mount an election petition challenging the validity of the election of a president of the republic. continued
