By Olasunkanmi Akoni, Evelyn Usman, Bose Adelaja & Monsur Olowoopejo Monday, February 13, was like every other day for residents of Jakande estate in Oke-Afa Isolo area of Lagos, as they set out for their respective work and business places. Then all of a sudden, the hitherto calm atmosphere was changed, following an unprecedented dark cloud which hampered vision. Just before anyone could fathom the outcome of the cloudy weather, the heaven opened with torrential down pour, which was greeted by violent wind. The wind said to have been the worst ever experienced, pulled off over hundred roofs, leaving close to two hundred families homeless. | | The wild wind also uprooted trees some of which landed on buildings and shops, thereby causing wanton destruction of property.
