Former Radio Netherlands Worldwide journalist and Africa representative Soulé Issiaka has been knighted. At a ceremony in the Dutch embassy in Cotonou, the capital of Benin, Soulé received the decorations which go with the title of Knight of the Order of Orange Nassau.
Soulé Issiaka retired last year, after a thirty-year career with RNW. The ambassador praised him for the work he had done for RNW, but also for promoting the Netherlands in Africa, and for his work towards press freedom and media pluralism on the continent. The Dutch diplomat said in his speech, "Soulé's professionalism stands out as an example for the young generation of journalists."...
